#feedback I think the daily digest is a good start. One use case that I've seen utilized quite heavily is the ability to immediately get an email based on pre-set and opt-in conditions. For example, give me the option to receive an email when a there is a post or comment in a group, or when I receive a message in the tool. Typically I've seen this type of notification rolled out first, and then as a community matures, you then  Read more...move into the daily digest format (not the other way around). The reality is many companies and users are still stuck in email, so to get their adoption moving in the right direction, appeasing to their email preferences is one way to get them engaged into your solution. Show less...

Have you guys talked about having differentiation around posting type? I was expecting to see the option to post a question as a post type=question. Question post types would then have answer (instead of a comment or reply). A selling point that I see is being able to have metrics around speed to answer or percent of questions that have an answer. This helps you demonstrate the value of a community, where members can begin to count on leveraging the community to find answers to their  Read more...questions. If you bury questions as general posts, you lose the ability to differentiate between the two, and I see a clear difference. I can see it now, Our communities, on average, see an answer to a question posted within 5 minutes 90% of the time... That would be one measurable engaged and valuable community (that had those types of statistics). Show less...

I like that. We are doing some prep work on different group typed that display differently and are geared towards different types of collaboration styles. I like your idea though

Something like 2 choices, "Begin a Conversation" and "Ask a Question". I've even seen where there was logic to look for question marks if the user selects "begin a conversation" asking the user if he/she was sure it isn't a question? Then conditionally, it would say "answer" for the space (instead of add a comment/reply) where answers could be provided and finally logic to mark an answer as "good" or "right" (something like that).

I was just testing out hashtags and search. I was looking to see if it was going to give me hashtag suggestions as I typed it out 😀

On our enhancement list... major deal isn't it. If you don't always know what it is.

one school of thought is to pivot most of your searches in communities off of hashtags--therefore it is a training opportunity for your community members to fully leverage the use of them. I guess it comes down to your theory on searchability overall, and how to mine the great content that your community builds up over time without having to have a great memory!

I am with ya... all the way. Just not there yet - close. We have all the internal plumbing, just need to expose it. What day are you coming in?

We also have email notifications to share with you... having some issues on production machine - my sysadmin is in on Thurs - we will go through it.

You and your wife available for dinner Thursday night? We are having a team gathering and you are certainly invited - we have some other "Advisors" with us as well as the team - spouses are good! We are thinking Chino.

Will do... On another note, we had a bad disk issue w/ our CoCo implementation tonight. Not sure how that will impact my time now. For Thursday, I will have Loring send you some details - basically, Chino Latino around 7PM on Thurs - I will confirm. Have a great night Omar.

Yes, I then went ahead and created a blog. That process seemed to work. Either it was user error or just general lack of knowledge on the site, but when I went through the admin process (public/private, etc.), I finally added an "article" to the blog. First, I tried to just post a link (to one of my existing blogs on my personal blog site), but that just appeared as text in the content of the article. So then I copied and pasted the contents of my blog in, clicked "😜ublish& Read more...quot; (instead of draft), then wondered where it would show up. Finally, I realized it put a future date and time (tomorrow at 3 something PM), where I had expected it to publish immediately. Likely user error again, but wanted to share the experience. Show less...

Yes - I know what you are talking about. You as a user must create the link (link icon in editor). I think we can do better than that - stay tuned over the next couple of days.

We know the pattern of a link so we could either generate it automatically or at least warn you that there is one there, would you like to create it. We do this with feeds. Same goes for hash tags.

We may need to host an "Omar" hour with you at our office to go over in detail. We are close. Also - your involvement with our customer CoCo (Don Ball) could be very beneficial as we discuss their outbound communication needs. Look for an invite in the next couple of weeks.

Hi, team! Love the look of the UI. One thing would be even better if the feed was default, or at least that was what I was expecting. From my experience, more real estate on the page dedicated to the feed was easier for the user to be grounded on what information was relevant to them. Interested in how you guys have thought about this or if there is simply a way for the feed to be set as the default based on my preference.

On any page you want to make the default - try clicking the "heart" on the lower right. It will set that page as your starting point. Give it a try.

Targeted feed content is based on your follows, connections, and engagements. In addition, with groups and blogs content can be set up for "suggestive" delivery. We should discuss this together in more detail. Our first customer will use this as a delivery mechanism to deliver specific content to specific regions and then to specific slices of that region. Great feedback and I would expect you would be asking these types of questions.

Finally - we are looking to add pinned messages and hastag composite views... One of my pet peeves on some of the larger social networks is when you find something you like then lose it to the feed. We want to add an easy way to "mark" the item immediately so we can go back and either retrieve it directly or search a much smaller set of content.

Omar - I should also mention that if you hover over the left menu items, you will see some north/south arrows display. By pressing those arrows and dragging them up or down, you can personalize your menu items.

To go back to your new "home"😜age (other question) - simply click on the "Logo" on the upper left of the banner area. Also, when you relog in, your home preference, your menu resorting, and even if you show or not show your menus/online are saved and  Read more...remembered. Show less...

Great, will check those things out. set the feedback group as my "home", but didn't re-log in 😀 I agree with the irritation of losing stuff to the "uber feed". I like that you are thinking about the concept of relevancy overall. From my experience, most users quickly become overwhelmed and complain that there is too much information pushed to them that is not relevant. I've seen having to actually scale back features to users over time in an attempt to simplify. I've  Read more...wondered if the default beginning place should be very minimal information, where the user could build what they wanted, at their pace. I guess my overall advice is to start more simple than complicated. Show less...

Good point. Funny... the whole "suggestion" concept is to ensure that the user starts out with something 😀... But I also think that the UX (User Experience) should try to guide them to the right level of information. Case: I want to see who's joining my community or my group... or, conversely, I really only care about new discussions - or certainly, show people how to stay in touch with a thread...

So if you follow a group - you will be alerted regarding new  Read more...discussions. But only once. If you engage, you will be notified of all engagements regarding that conversation. We will be adding a mechanism to stop that process (actually in there, just not exposed). To stay engaged w/ a thread after initial notification that a new conversation has started requires either a reply or a "like" - at that point you are on the notify list.

All ears on this one 😀 Show less...
